Lickable cat treats: how to serve them and how many to give

Advice · · Natural Code

You serve the 4× 14 g creamy sticks from your hand — a treat that keeps you in touch with your cat. There are four sticks in a pack, so you only ever open one portion and the rest stays sealed.

How to serve the sticks

Open a stick and your cat licks the cream straight from it. You can also squeeze it into the bowl, for example as a topping on kibble.

How many to give

One stick weighs 14 g. The daily amount according to the label:

Cat Weight Daily amount
Kitten 6–12 months 1–3 kg 2–5 sticks (28–70 g)
Adult cat over 12 months 3–5 kg 2–3.5 sticks (28–49 g)
Adult cat over 12 months 5–7 kg 3.5–5 sticks (49–70 g)

Creamy sticks are not suitable for kittens under 6 months. They are complementary food, so serve them alongside a complete diet. Always leave your cat plenty of fresh water, and store the sticks in a cool, dry place.

What’s in a stick

Cooking water makes up almost 60% of the recipe, and the moisture of a stick is around 84%. With it come meat or fish, 29 to 33%, and tapioca starch, 6%.

All seven flavours also contain hydrolysed poultry protein, tuna extract and fructo-oligosaccharides. So you’ll find poultry protein even in Creamy Tuna, and tuna extract in Creamy Chicken.

The nutritional additives are the same in all of them: vitamin E 100 mg/kg, taurine 1,000 mg/kg and L-lysine 100 mg/kg.
